6 years on and Finn has been dating numerous women whilst Molly has lived the penance she decided for herself after she made a mistake, solitude. You don’t get angry with, and you aren’t hurt by the actions of someone who means nothing to you, to be in the place Finn was in, you had to love someone so much that it was unbearable to think of Molly as anything but perfect. When The Birthday List concluded and Molly and Finn went their separate ways, I was upset, but I got it, I understood, marriage is hard and people make mistakes, they stop fighting for each other and start fighting against each other and there are things that are said and done that are unforgivable, but I had still been rooting for them from start to finish. It feels like I’ve been waiting and wanting this story for much much longer than the just over a year it’s actually been since I finished The Birthday List, but this was definitely my most anticipated read for this year, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
